A Wedding and my Birthday
Jul 12, 2005
I’m not sure what it is about my family, they always seem to organise weddings near my Birthday! My cousin Carl married Jenny on Saturday (9th) and it’s my other cousins second wedding anniversary on my Birthday (11th). It’s been nice as I get to see the family around my birthday time – good of them to arrange a party for me!
The wedding was wonderful, at a really nice place in Leicestershire. It was an old Hall set in it’s own grounds – similar to where we had our wedding. The ceremony itself was a civil one held in one of the rooms. It was over very quickly, less than half an hour. Which was a relief as the room was very hot and full. The reception was in a wonderful room/conservatory, with a vine down one wall and fairy lights. It looked magical as it got darker. It brought back a lot of memories of my own wedding, which was very nice.
We had planned to go ringing on the Sunday morning, but we didn’t get round to finding ringing times for the two closest towers so slept in and had a leisurely breakfast instead. We’d spotted a canal on the way to the hotel which looked like a good spot for a walk so we headed up there with Mum and Dad and had a quick walk. It was far to hot for anything more serious. I’ve got lots of photo’s of dragonflies and boats to look at, no idea if I managed to get any good ones though.
As Monday was my birthday we’d booked the day off work. We had no firm plans but I’d never been to Spurn Point and always fancied it so we thought we’d head there. We had a few jobs to do in the morning, sorting out some banking stuff and going to see my new car (which I’m picking up in two weeks!). We had a lovely breakfast at Blueberry and then headed off to the coast. It’s a fantastic area, I can’t wait to go back and walk the full length of it.
I took lots and lots of photos at the wedding, the walk on Sunday and Monday. Hopefully I’ll get a few sorted to upload soon.
