Family Visiting

Aug 15, 2005

We had a fairly busy weekend. Mums Brother, Sister in Law, Sister and partner were visiting for the weekend. So Chris and I stayed with them Friday night to see everyone. As eight is a lot of people to cook for we had a BBQ, luckily the weather held although most of us ate indoors. It was good to see everyone and catch up – lots of talk about the wedding and we got to see the DVD.

Saturday was BnD day and we also had a wedding to ring for, luckily it wasn’t too early. The wedding was at Long Riston which only has three bells. They do have a local band but most were on holiday so we got drafted in – the bride was a friend of a Bridlington ringer we know. We got there in time to ring before the wedding. The wedding was really quick so we only just got back in time, people were leaving the church as we arrived. We rang for a few more minutes afterward until they’d left the car park. We weren’t expecting it but got paid – so that’s a bit more money for the piggy bank.

After the wedding it was time for ringing at Kilham, and then on the the meeting at Bridlington the tea was fish and chip supper – I had jacket potato and quiche instead and C just ate his chips. I learnt Superlative while we were waiting for the food and had a chance to ring it afterwards.

On Sunday we carried on working in the hall. We’re stripping the banisters at the moment. We’ve got all the paint off, the old spindles out, new ones bought and are now working on stripping the old varnish off. It’s pretty hard work and makes a LOT of dust. We also found time to visit the RSPCA and found a bunny that will hopefully be a companion for Holly. We passed the homecheck today and should be able to pick him up sometime this week. He’s called Bandit at the moment but we’re going to re-name him to Blackberry, to stick with the Watership Down naming. It’s going to take a while to introduce them, but hopefully they’ll be able to live together before we go on The Lakes tour at the end of the month. I still haven’t found someone to look after them while we’re away… I might draft Mum in.

I want to...

Buy these for me.
Buy these and these for Tom.
Go to these places.
Do these things.
