20 week scan
Dec 12, 2005
I was 20 weeks on Friday and Thursday was the day of the 20 week scan. As it wasn’t till 12.30 I worked from home that day, which meant I got a lie in! The scan went really well – apart from being kept waiting for 15 minutes, a long time with a full bladder. Everything looks ok, photos were taken of all the organs, legs, feet, arms and legs. It took ages to get the heart done as the baby was lying in the most awkward position. It was fascinating to watch it beating on the screen though, and little twitches from the arms and legs. If all goes well that’s the last time we’ll see the baby for 20 weeks, which seems like a very long time!
Friday I took as a holiday and went shopping in York with Mum, we had planned to buy some baby stuff but in the end only had time to get Christmas presents. At least we’re pretty much finished doing that now. It was nice to spend a day round York – the repetitive Christmas music got a little boring after a while, and it was so busy! there’s no way I could go shopping on a Saturday this time of year.
Chris was away in Ireland this weekend so I went to the BnD by myself. I didn’t stay for evening ringing though as I was dog-sitting, she didn’t get to see much of me as it was also the 100 club night. So I fed her, got changed and went straight out again! We didn’t win the big prize, and we didn’t win the quiz. It was still a good night – and an ideal chance to give out Christmas cards!
Ringing on Sunday morning was a bit weak without Chris, and Howard, we eventually managed some rounds and call changes on 6 though – as people slowly arrived. I had to cancel evening ringing as there was only three of us who could make it. Which meant I had the rest of the day to myself. Mum and Dad came to pick up the dog, and took me out to lunch and shopping which was very useful. After that I just napped and watched tv – very relaxing!
