Happy New Year
Jan 04, 2006
First day back at work today after the very long holiday – it felt long anyway. We had a great Christmas and ate far too much as usual, three Christmas lunches in three days was probably pushing it. I think some sensible eating is called for in the new year, exercise might be an idea too!
I’ve not made any new years resolutions yet. I’ve got a couple of goals in ringing to achieve; call a quarter, ring at least 12 quarters, ring at at least 52 new towers and ring a quarter of another surprise major method – probably Lincolnshire or Cambridge. I think they’re all achievable – even with the baby on the way! We’ll just need to get some tower open day’s in before May. It’s the Beverley and District’s 60th anniversary this year so they’re hoping to get as many “foot-notable firsts” as possible. We’re aiming to get at least one per band member, so that should be good. Of course a lot of them will be Plain Bob Doubles… I’ve achieved my first and a goal already by calling my first quarter on the 1st, it was hard work but we got through it – after a false start! I don’t think I’ll be calling any more for a long while.
I got lots and lots of presents for Christmas, the best has to be a new computer from Chris. I’m sure he’ll get use out of it too – and of course he gets the old one. It still needs setting up with all the software and games which could take weeks, but I bought The Sims 2 with my HMV vouchers and that’s been played a lot recently! I wont have much time now I’m back at work though. I also got a beautiful necklace, so I need to go to more places where I can wear it. Considering there was nothing I needed before Christmas I got some fantastic presents. And we seem to have spent a fortune in the sales as well! Definitely time for belt tightening… I’m sure things will be getting expensive later in the year.
