BnD Dinner
Jan 09, 2006
Saturday was the annual Beverley and District ringers dinner. We were planning to ring a quarter in the morning to celebrate but after ringing round everyone we knew there was only five of us. I’m quite pleased we didn’t as we had lots and lots of jobs to do in the morning. Picking up Chris’ suit, some printing work and a goldfish. Every year I save the money I get for ringing weddings and other things in a pig, at new year I take out the money and get a treat. This year I got quite a lot of money so I’ve bought a goldfish tank, Chris isn’t impressed. I’m sure the baby will like looking at the fish though – and I certainly do. We set everything up on Tuesday and we’re supposed to have one fish in there for two weeks to get the filter established – it’s all very complicated! Anyway, we’ve got a fish called Bob. I’ll try to take some pics put he’s pretty fast – and I don’t think he’d like the flash.
The dinner went really well, I drove as I’m not allowed to drink! The speeches seemed to go on a long time but they were very good so I didn’t mind too much. Chris did the toast to the Church but didn’t get much warning so ended up making it up pretty much on the spot – he did very well though. The disco was a bit loud – for me and the baby, lots of kicks! But I really enjoyed it. We didn’t get to bed till 2.00 so I spent quite a lot of Sunday sleeping. I’m still tired today!
