The Lakes

Last weekend we spent a long weekend in The Lakes. We started by driving up through North Yorkshire and visiting Knaresborough and then on to Northallerton where we stayed the night and went to the local practice. It’s a very nice tower and they’ve got a superb band, I was lucky enough to get a go at Grandsire Caters inside and on the treble as well as some rounds and call changes. I’m unused to ringing on ten but I think my ropesight has improved a little with ringing on 8.

On Friday we visited Aysgarth to see the falls and Keswick on our way up to Whitehaven to join the practice there. Unfortunately the practice was cancelled so we didn’t get a chance for a grab – we’ll have to try and have a North Lakes tour next year.
