Midwife Visit

The midwife has just been for a check up and to make sure everything’s going ok. We had a couple of questions which she answered and she gave us some tips on dealing with the dry skin he’s developed today. Apparently we need to grease him up with extra virgin olive oil! We’ve not put anything on his skin so far which is good so it should resolve itself without a problem.

The first midwife visit on Friday weighed him at 8lb 5 ounces which is a normal loss – within 10%. Today he weighed in at 8lb 12 ounces, which she was very surprised at and shows I’m doing a good job apparently. So there must be something to this vegetarianism after all! Good birth weight and a very good gain afterwards. I think it’s something to do with him eating every hour on Friday night…

Things are going well – we’re hoping to get out in the real world tomorrow as I’ve not been out the front door since we got home on Thursday. We need to be getting used to going out, and sooner or later I’ll have to deal with breastfeeding in public. Something I’m not looking forward too!
