Monthly Newsletter – Month Two
Jun 30, 2006
Tom’s changed a lot this month. We’re getting into a daily routine which is helping a lot. His sleeping is also getting better. He has a feed, quick bath and bed at 8.30 then sleeps till 4 or 5 (touch wood). Unfortunately he tends to be awake for a couple of hours after that! His feeding has slown down too – now we feed every three hours or so. Which isn’t too bad. The best thing about this month has definitely been the smiles, I could be convinced that he knows us now by the way he smiles at the people he sees most.

This month he’s found his hands and spends a lot of time looking at them or eating them – usually after thumping himself in the head first. I think a bit of refinement is needed! In the last few days he’s also started stareing at his feet and moving them.

He’s put on lots of weight this month and now weighs nearly a stone. It makes carrying him in the bush baby quite hard for me – although I’m sure it’ll help me loose weight lugging him around. His head is a lot stronger, far stronger than it should be for a two month old. Although he still loses control and headbuts us occasionally, although that may be on purpose.

He doesn’t seem to be much closer to turning over, although hopefully that will come this month. He keeps trying. I’ve started taking him to baby massage on Mondays which so far he’s absolutely loved, I think that will get a lot harder as he gets more mobile though!

In the next month he’s supposed to get even stronger – apparently three month olds can sit up, he’s still got a long way to go before that! I’m looking forward to him using his hands more to grab toys, he tries but usually moves the hand furthest away from what he’s looking at at the moment.
He should also lift his hands to be picked up, I’m looking forward to that too – should be very cute.
