Monthly Newsletter – Month Four
Aug 29, 2006
I can’t believe its four months already. Tom’s changed so much – again! The biggest thing this month has been movement. He’s not crawling yet but I can’t leave him on the rug for any length of time any more as he can shuffle. Usually he goes round in a big circle but I’ve found him head first in the plants before now. Things are starting to be moved upwards now.

His hand control is fantastic now and he usually grabs what he goes for, and it always ends up in his mouth… or sometimes his eye. He most of all loves other peoples hands and fingers, he’ll spend ages gumming a finger. Or just staring as you move a hand around.

This month has seen a big improvement in sleeping – although I’m not sure it’ll last. He now goes from about 8.30 till five or six, which I love. He does usually want to be up after that feed but we play with him a bit in the big bed and he goes back to sleep for a while – this morning till 9 which was a lovely lie in for me!

Tom’s slowly getting a collection of toys, he’s started actually noticing them now which is great but the house is being overrun by colourful animals and plastic. He loves things which make a noise and things he can put in his mouth most of all.

This month was Toms Christening, which was fantastic. He behaved brilliantly and charmed everyone who came. He didn’t cry at all while he was being christened and played happily with anyone and everyone who held him afterwards.

I’ve not had Tom weighed for a while but last time he was over 16lbs, which means he’s not far off doubling his birth weight. He still very chatty and has learnt to blow bubbles which he finds very amusing. Although at the moment he’s got a cold so when he does he coughs… he finds that funny too.
