Autumn
Oct 21, 2006
Isn’t Autumn wonderful. We watched some of the BBC’s Autumnwatch when it was on and I enjoyed seeing all the animals and birds getting ready for Autumn, at the end of the show they said to “get out and enjoy” the Autumn. So in the last few days thats what we’ve been doing.
Chris had a job to do up in Scotland, Glasgow area, so Tom and I tagged along. We stayed at Stirling – which is a wonderful town. I’ve taken loads of photos of the leaves turning, and although we got quite horrible weather we enjoyed it loads. I even started Christmas shopping!
On our way back from Scotland we ventured into The Lakes for a night. We found a lovely hotel called The Kings Head near Thirlmere, we’ve passed it a few times on the road but never got round to going there. We’ve both agreed that we will be going back though.
The lakes is wonderful this time of year, all the heather in the hills has turned golden and the trees are in the process of doing the same. The weather was wonderful with clear blue skies and that amazing light you only seem to get this time of year.
I’ll be posting some photos when I get a chance.
