Monthly Newsletter – Month Six
Oct 30, 2006
Tom is now six months old – a whole half year. This has definitely been the most scary month development wise. He can now sit up perfectly well unaided and catches himself on his hand or elbow if he topples over – which he rarely does. He is also getting much stronger while standing on us.

In fact in the last few days he’s scared us all by pulling up against his toy box and the sofa… I’m sure he shouldn’t be doing that just yet. He’s also scared us all by getting his bottom two teeth this month. So no more chewing on our fingers.

His crawling hasn’t got much better, he does one or two shuffles forward and then uses his belly to pull himself forward. We think he’ll probably go from shuffling to walking – not too soon hopefully.

As he’s now six months old we’ve started weaning him, which is something I was looking forward to very much. He seems to enjoy the food and is already taking more than the teaspoon full he should be. So far he’s only slept through the night once but I’m hopeful that the full tummy will help with that too.

This has definitely been the best month yet. He just keeps getting better and better, he’s so funny and finds things funny too – which is great. He gets really excited to see people, especially if he knows them. The only downside to this month has been that he’s starting to get clingy, which is a bit of a pain. But hopefully he’ll grow out of that one.
