Monthly Newsletter - Month Nine
Jan 29, 2007
I can’t believe we’re already at nine months, that means he’s been here longer than he was inside. I find it hard to remember a time without him. This month has been another great change, at the beginning of the month I was worried as he wasn’t making many noises, we now can’t stop him! He still isn’t copying noises or saying da da da, but he says mummmuummm, and lots of ttsssttss sounds, his sayings have made it into our vocabulary which I think means we’ll be speaking Tom before he learns to speak our language.

This month has been quite an exciting one, we’ve started going to more groups, one of which I do alone while he is in a creche, the first time I left him I was a nervous wreak and felt very ill. He was absolutely fine and loved every minute. Its good for both of us and I hope will prepare me for leaving him longer when I go back to work. We also go to a breastfeeding support group on Mondays, which is a group of mums chatting while the babies play, babbling babies on Tuesday which involves singing and playing with loud toys. I plan to start going to a group on Wednesday mornings and hopefully finding some time to go swimming too.

This month also saw Tom’s first snow, it didn’t last long but we managed to get out in it and let Tom feel it for the first time. Hopefully it wont be the last of the year and we’ll get another chance soon.

One of the most exciting things for me this month has been Tom learning to put blocks through a hole, it doesn’t sound like much but it amazes me, and I think it’s wonderful. This month we’re going to start signing, I’d like him to know biscuit and water, then at least he can tell me if he wants either. It’s also time for him to start feeding himself, which I’m a little scared of as he makes enough mess as it is!
