Monthly Newsletter - Month Thirteen

May 30, 2007

Thomas is now definitely not a baby any more. He’s a fully fledged toddler. The walking skills are coming on nicely and he can now attempt a run, although he often trips, lands on his hands, topples forward and bangs his head on the floor. Which results in some wails.

He enjoys walking, running, turning round in circles and walking backwards. All very advanced stuff. This month he has also learnt how to stand up without pulling himself up on something, he seems to squat and use his bottom as a counter balance.

He’s finally started coming on with making noises, I’ve been a little worried that he’s been concentrating on learning to walk and not bothering to speak! He now has sounds like words for on and off, which he says when pointing to lights, the boy is obsessed with switching lights on and off! He can say uuuuuuup, mmoooommmm, and baby. I can also understand him when he says breakfast (fsst), toast (tsst) and fish (fsss). Cars and bikes (anything with wheels) are brumm brummm, dogs are wufff, cats are still a kissing sound and tick tock for clocks – which he can find in any room.

He is learning more words too, he can find mummy, daddy, nanna, grandad and kesty when asked where they are. Fetch your… usually results in him at least looking at the object (car, duck, bricks etc.)

The best thing this month though is that he has learnt to kiss, he puckers up and leans forward. It’s so cute and totally melts my heart.

I want to...

Buy these for me.
Buy these and these for Tom.
Go to these places.
Do these things.
