Monthly Newsletter - Month Fourteen

Jun 29, 2007

Tom is 14 months old today. He’s not changed a huge amount from last month, though his walking skills are definitely better. He vary rarely falls over now and is getting better at running.

He loves opening things, doors and kitchen draws and cupboards are his favorite, he can happily spend an hour in the kitchen opening cupboards and taking everything out, and usually putting them in other draws! We’ve got locks on some now but he’s allowed in most.

There are a few new words this month, he said balloon for the first time which I was quite impressed with and he also says “rndnrnd” while twisting his hand for anything that’s going round and round, a windmill, his disco light – anything! He says om a lot, usually when he wants something which we think may be the beginning of Tom. This month he has also started trying to say thank you when we give him things. This month he has learnt what a telephone is and whenever he sees one he says “Ah” and puts his hand on his head.

Tom is a very busy boy. He’s always wandering around carrying things, he often brings things to me to look after, if we’re anywhere for a long time I end up with a pile of toys round me. We go to a few groups during the week and he gives things to the other mothers there. He’s getting much better at sharing with other children too.

Toms favourite things are being high up, he climbs anything to get high! and water, specially in the garden, he’ll splash away for ages.

I want to...

Buy these for me.
Buy these and these for Tom.
Go to these places.
Do these things.
