Monthly Update - Month Twenty Four
Apr 30, 2008
I can’t believe Thomas is TWO. This year has really flown by, yet at the same time it seems like an awfully long time since his first birthday. Tom has changed huge amounts this month his vocabulary and character are changing daily – but he’s still our little Thomas.
He loves to sing songs with us, his favourites at the moment are Little Peter Rabbit, Wind the Bobbin Up, Ring a Ring a Roses, all with the actions, which is very exciting. He also likes us to sing Daisy, Daisy, Horsey, Horsey and Hot Cross Buns. We have a CD with childrens songs in the car and he sometimes requests “Lady sing horsey”.
Thomas is making sentances more often now and is very good at asking for things – with a please and thank you when prompted! He also repeats pretty much everything we say – especially when it’s a new word. We were trying to add up the number of words he knows and we got well over 100 before we got bored. It’s almost possible to have a conversation with him, and I’m sure this is something that’s going to get better and better next month.
Tom has always loved his toys but he’s started playing in a more involved way now. He runs cars along the floor, and ledges, pretending to drive them. We found a road set that I played with as a child and he loves helping his Nanna set it up and drive cars round it. He also loves his train set at home. He got lots of extra bits for his birthday and we’re all looking forward to building huge sets from it. Especially now we have a train that makes steam!
We all really enjoyed his birthday party, which we held at our house. We were worried about the weather as the week before was very rainy, but the day itself was fantastic! We got a lot of sunshine and Tom loved playing with his presents – a slide, bouncy castle and tent sets.
