Monthly Update - Month Thirty Four

Mar 05, 2009

This has been an exciting month for Thomas as we had more snow. One Monday was so snowy that we didn’t go in to work and instead stayed home and built a snowman and had snowball fights. Thomas loves the snow and calls most clouds he sees “snow clouds”. He still talks about snow and snowball fights even though it’s been several weeks since the last snow.

We booked our holidays for the year this month and Thomas is very excited about them. In June we’re going to the North York Moors for a week on the camping coaches there. Thomas is incredibly excited about the whole thing – as are we! We should have plenty of time to ride trains and maybe even get to the seaside for a day, if the weather is good. The second holiday will be September when we’re going back to the holiday cottage in Cockermouth. Tom seems to be more excited about this as he keeps saying he’s changing the clock to September so it’s time to go.

Another thing I’ve noticed this month is that Tom seems to be fascinated by what is underneath everything, he’s always asking what’s underneath the road, or the car’s engine, or even his food. That and what’s in it seem to be endlessley interesting. I think this is a good sign, it can’t be bad to have a questioning mind.

Thomas has been sleeping well this month. He often goes straight to sleep at night with no fuss at all and he still needs an afternoon nap, sometimes he even asks for it. He now goes to bed at 7.30 if we have to be up early in the morning and 8.00 at weekends, he tends to sleep 12 hours at night and 1 1/2 during the day.

Thomas has always loved books and that continues to grow, often at lunchtimes I spend half an hour reading his library books to him. He has also developed a love of the computer, he likes watching diggers and trucks on youtube as well as the cbeebies website with all it’s games.

I want to...

Buy these for me.
Buy these and these for Tom.
Go to these places.
Do these things.
