My Birthday weekend
Jul 12, 2004
We didn’t do too much for my birthday this year. I guess I’ll get a pretty good party next week though! Mum and Dad came down on Sunday and helped us paint the bedroom. Living in a one bedroom flat with a lot of stuff makes finishing painting in one day quite important!
Luckily it’s all finished, although we do need to gloss the skirting board when we get back from holiday. So that’s something to look forward to!
There were two weddings at Trinity on Saturday, one starting half an hour after the other. The first bride was about half an hour late. We arrived to ring them out just after the ceremony had started. We expected the second bride to have to wait, but she turned up 45 minutes late! At the time we were supposed to be ringing her out she was still at home getting ready. We discovered that later, it meant we were in the tower a lot longer than we had planned. Hopefully I wont be that late next week! Although with the times the cars are booked I don’t think I can help being a little bit late – it all depends on the traffic.
We rang a quarter last night for Vicky and my birthdays. Vicky called it – her first as conductor which was really good. We nearly lost it a few times but everyone kept cool and we got it back. That’s new in the quarters section. We also went out to Wragby last week for the dedication of their stairs and ringing chamber. It was good as I was christened in the church and grew up in the village. I think the last time I went in the church I was about 8. So there’s a new tower as well!
That’s probably the last blog update till we get back from our honeymoon. Hopefully I’ll have some new photo’s by then!
